2026 Performance

Madhureno Sruti Natok, Sunday 12 July 2026

Aaloron was invited to do a sruti natok (audio drama) at the inaugural event of “Chayapath” – a cultural organisation developed in Leeds. The occasion also marked the 400 anniversary of the city of Leeds. It took place at the Bangladesh Community Centre in Leeds. Poets, artists, literary activists and members of the public attended the event. A team of twelve theatre enthusiasts performed “Madhureno (Sweetness)”- a romantic comedy that filled the audiences’ hearts with joy and cheer. The team were applauded for their craft, portrayal of characters and effort.

Harmony Festival on 28 March 2026

This was the second consecutive year, Aaloron group was invited to perform in Harmony Festival in Bradford, successfully organised by Hema Shanmugam and her organising team from the Bradford Hindu Council and Tamils of Northeast, on 28 March 2026.Aaloron’s rendition brought in the different flavours of the folk music from rural undivided Bengal, which are practised and propagated by folklore, oral poets and bards in Bengal.In our group rendition, we presented the Kirtan, Baul and Bhatiyali forms of Bengali folk music through our chorus songs and dances. The songs talked about common people, their love and actions, and how the feelings transcend to eternal love, divinity, and quest for the ultimate truth.

Natya Utsav - A festival celebrating Bengali Theatre, 21 March 2026, Birmingham.

Aaloron was invited to the Natya Utsav 2026 – Festival of Theatre organised by the Midland Indian Association, Birmingham on Saturday 21 March 2025. Aaloron presented “ProsongoPrem” (A Conversation About Love) – Aaloron’s latest theatre production from summer 2025 and returning from its successful international production.The production was appreciated by audiences for unique style of presentation of four of stories based on Rabindranath Tagore’s work depicting different shades of love - “Akanksha”(desire), “Anubhuti” (realisation of feelings), “Anurakti” (emotional bonding) to Aprapti (unattainable love). Performing along with four other theatre production groups from UK, thisprovided the opportunity to showcase Aalorons passion for theatre on a national level.

International theatre collaboration with Sudrak. at the ICCR Kolkata, Sunday 14February 2026.

“Prosongo Prem” (A Conversation About Love) – Aaloron’s latest theatre production from summer 2025, found a special place in the audiences’ hearts in UK. A team of eighteen theatre lovers from Aaloron set off on a journey to perform this in ICCR Kolkata, invited by Sudrak. On #Valentine’s Day, when the lights came up and the audience leaned in, it felt like the hard-work finally took flight. Aaloron staged four stories based on #Rabindranath Tagore’s work depicting different shades of love - “Akanksha” (desire), “Anubhuti” (realisation of feelings),“Anurakti” (emotional bonding) to Aprapti (unattainable love).Performing to a full house in the “Satyajit Ray” auditorium in ICCR Kolkata was nerve wracking. What moved us most was the connection — between performers on stage, and between the story and the audience. The front two rows were adorned by renowned theatre personalities and critics like Rudraprasad Sengupta, Debasis Majumdar, Seema Mukhopadhyay, Soumitra Basu, Sumita Basu, Arup Ray, Upali Chattopadhyay, Prof Ananda Lal, Samik Bandyopadhyay, Dilip Banerjee and many others. A wonderful opportunity to experience the audience’s love and gather meaningful, constructive feedback.
